Dr. Michael Gu
Michael Gu, President of Comengine (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, has over 14 years experience in the US and Chinese automotive and related industry.
Dr. Gu has conducted numerous corporate training sessions and client regional meetings and has served as a guest speaker for International Business Forum for Consumer Market, Chinese Automotive Dealer Summit Forum, The International Symposium on Medicine in the 21st Century, and regional automotive dealer association conferences.
Dr. Gu served as research investigator at University of Michigan, vehicle dynamics training supervisor and program management attribute leader at Ford Motor Company, and board of director at Rui Jin Hospital Eye Institute.
Dr. Gu holds a B.A. degree in Engineering Mechanics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from The University of Michigan.

Robert Lane
With over 20 years in the Retail Automotive industry and then 10 years in automotive business consulting and development, Robert brings to the market a combination of dealer principal experience and advisory skills.
In 1976 Robert commenced his career in the automotive business in a large a multi franchise company called Lanes Motor’s. With several dealerships including the core Mercedes-Benz franchise and distribution and approximately 1000 employees it was a complex and exciting environment to learn the business. After beginning in the accounting department Robert transferred to the Toyota new car sales department and began 5 years of working as sales professional. This period was followed by various roles within the business in retail management (Mitsubishi, Leyland, and Renault Peugeot), distribution (Daihatsu) and dealership business development.
Several years later Robert became the Dealer Principal of a large metropolitan Toyota Dealership called Lane Toyota.
Under Robert’s management the business won the following awards:
- National Dealer of the Year
- New Car Sales Dealer of the Year
- Service Dealer of the Year
Robert was involved in the franchise support organisations such as:
- The Toyota Dealer Council
- The Toyota Dealer Advertising Fund
In 2002 Robert was asked to help develop business for an auction corporation called Manheim Asia Pacific (trading as Fowles Auction Group).
In 2004 Robert visited China and decided to move here with his wife to live in a new and exciting environment.
After researching China’s Automotive Market Robert saw a need for coaching and management training within the new industry. As a result he has produced a comprehensive Dealer Management Training course which is now available through Comengine Automotive Consulting.

Mr. Wilson Zhang
Mr Wilson Zhang, graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with major in application physics, and then taught in Shanghai Fudan University after graduation.
Since 1997, he took up an appointment as Research Manage & DCR Specialist in Shanghai Haodong Network Technology Co., Ltd, Project Manager in Shanghai Huanya information Technology Co., Ltd, and Information Technology Director in Shanghai Comengine Solution Co., Ltd.
Mr. Wilson Zhang has plenty of experience in Enterprise Information Management, and implemented large-scale CRM, EIP and ERP successfully.
